McGrath has bolstered its Queensland auction division with the appointment of seasoned auctioneer Marcus Muir to the role of Head Auctioneer – a move that reflects the group's sharp focus on accelerating momentum in one of the country’s most competitive real estate markets.

With seven new offices launched across the state in recent months, McGrath’s Queensland expansion shows no signs of slowing – and neither does the appetite for auctions. Brisbane and South-East Queensland, in particular, have seen a marked shift towards the auction method, with sellers and buyers increasingly favouring its speed, transparency and potential to drive standout results.

Muir brings more than a decade of auctioneering experience to the role, joining a high-performing auction team led nationally by Scott Kennedy-Green. His appointment aims to further sharpen McGrath’s edge as demand surges.

“The Queensland market continues to evolve at pace, and auctions are now firmly on the radar for sellers wanting a competitive, transparent process,” said Kennedy-Green.

“Bringing someone of Marcus’ calibre into the fold is part of our commitment to delivering the strongest auction results in the country.”

Muir echoed the sentiment, pointing to the strength of McGrath’s agent network and the group’s rising presence across the state.

“There’s a real energy in this market, and I’m excited to be part of a team that’s deeply committed to delivering the best auction experience possible,” Muir said.

“We’re working with some of the best agents in the business, and the growth across Brisbane and South-East Queensland has been phenomenal.”

McGrath’s recent Queensland office launches include Ascot, Samford, Beenleigh and Mt Gravatt, with more to follow as the network scales to meet demand.
