The strategic hire reinforces MRI’s commitment to innovation and client success for large real estate groups across the Asia-Pacific region.
With more than 25 years of experience in real estate leadership, Bell brings deep expertise in agency operations, auctioneering, property management, and executive strategy.
In his most recent role as CEO of Century 21 Australia, he led the national network through a period of transformation, driving growth through technology adoption and client-centric leadership.
“I’m excited to join MRI at a time when the real estate industry is embracing technology to drive smarter outcomes,” said Bell.
“AI, data, and automation will transform how agencies and owners operate, and I look forward to working with our clients to lead that change.”

In his new role, Bell will be responsible for guiding the enterprise strategy for MRI’s residential property solutions in APAC, focusing on delivering long-term value to clients across the region.
He will lead strategic engagement with large agency networks, developers, and owners, aligning their business needs with the right solutions to drive innovation, efficiency, and growth.
“James’ appointment reflects MRI’s continued investment in leadership that understands both technology and the realities of property operations,” said David Bowie, EVP, Executive Managing Director, MRI Software APAC.
“As we deepen our commitment to helping enterprise clients solve today’s challenges, from platform consolidation to AI integration, James will play a key role in shaping solutions that deliver measurable impact.”
The appointment follows a series of strategic hires as MRI Software continues to expand its presence across Asia Pacific, supporting the growing demand for connected, flexible, and scalable property technology solutions.
