From Property Manager to Business Development Manager: A Journey of Growth and Success
As I reflect on my journey from starting in property management to becoming a Business Development Manager (BDM), I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
It has been a transformative experience marked by challenges, triumphs, and unwavering determination.
Covering over a 10-year period there have been many highs and lows. I have had two beautiful children – one of which had a pacemaker put in when he was 4 days old.
What I love most about this industry is the support to do all the different roles life gives you. So, returning to work after my second child was not easy but it has been the most rewarding part of my career to date.
When I first entered property management, I was fueled by ambition and a desire to carve out my path in the industry. As a property manager and eventual business owner, I learned the ins and outs of the field, from managing properties efficiently to fostering strong tenant and landlord relationships.
The most fulfilling aspect of my property management journey has been, and still is, starting a rent roll here in New Plymouth for Property Brokers.
In less than two years our portfolio has grown from zero to over 150 properties. This achievement isn’t just a testament to numbers; it’s reflective of my dedication, reputation, and drive to provide exceptional customer service.
I attribute much of this success to a relentless passion for what I do.
Property management isn't just a job for me; it's a calling. Every interaction with tenants, property owners, and stakeholders is an opportunity to demonstrate my unwavering commitment for excellence.
Word of mouth also plays a pivotal role in expanding my rent roll. Satisfied clients have become my most vocal advocates, spreading the word about the quality of service they receive. This organic growth validated my approach and reinforced the importance of building genuine relationships on trust and integrity.
Over time, I have earned the trust and respect of clients and colleagues alike through consistent delivery and a results-driven mindset. Reputation opened doors and paved the way for new opportunities, including my transition to my current BDM role.
As a BDM, I now have the privilege of leveraging my expertise and experience to drive growth on a larger scale. While the journey ahead may present its own set of challenges, I am confident in my ability to continue making a meaningful impact in the industry.
My journey from property manager to BDM has been the best move for my own personal development. It is a journey marked by growth, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
And as I look towards the future, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and the prospect of continuing to make a positive difference in the world of property management.
