Wellington-based real estate firm One Agency Select Realty has entered a new phase of ownership, with Elman Avallone acquiring full control of the business.
The move follows the decision by founding director Naomi Brooking to step back from executive duties to refocus on sales and family priorities.
The agency, established in 2015, has positioned itself as a boutique operator offering a personalised alternative to volume-driven franchise models. Avallone, who joined the business shortly after launch, has held roles across compliance, operations, and leadership, and had previously been a co-owner.
“This marks a natural progression,” Avallone said. “We’ve built a business that prioritises consistency and accountability in the sales process, and this next chapter will allow us to scale that further across the region.”
From Start-Up to Regional Operator
Avallone entered the real estate industry at 18, securing a role on a commission-only basis after initially being turned away for his age.
He joined forces with Brooking during the early days of One Agency Select Realty, contributing to its evolution into a tech-enabled, client-centric firm with a strong local presence.
The company differentiates itself through a single-agent model, where clients work with the same representative from appraisal through to settlement — a structural choice Avallone says is designed to reduce handover inefficiencies and provide clearer communication throughout the sales process.
Tech-Enabled Sales Model
One Agency Select Realty has invested in digital infrastructure that enables buyers to submit legally binding offers remotely via a proprietary platform.
Vendors are given access to a real-time dashboard that tracks engagement, campaign performance, and offer activity — tools that Avallone says are now essential for transaction transparency.
“Buyers and sellers expect immediacy,” he said. “Real-time tools reduce uncertainty and allow for faster, more informed decisions.”
Expansion Strategy
With full ownership secured, Avallone has confirmed plans to grow the firm’s footprint within Wellington and explore new service verticals.
Priorities include agent recruitment, expansion into buyer advocacy and commercial real estate, and the development of an internal finance team to support buyers with lending.
“There is a clear market appetite for an independent, tech-driven agency model that doesn’t rely on outdated structures or excessive overheads,” he said. “That’s where we’re focused.”
