Hospice and Harcourts Foundation renew their commitment to help Kiwis embrace every moment

Harcourts Foundation and Hospice New Zealand have renewed their national partnership of the Hospice New Zealand Grants Programme for the 7th year in a row,
Established in 2017, the Hospice New Zealand Grants Programme has seen more than $275,000 granted to hospices throughout the country, increasing to $325,000 this year. The goal of this unique programme is to provide hospices with an opportunity to apply for grants to fund key items that directly benefit people using their services.
In 2022, Hospices around New Zealand have benefited from nearly $50,000 in specialised equipment, thanks to the 2022 grants provided by the Harcourts Foundation and its supporting business owners. The $49,408 in grants, were distributed to 11 hospices nationwide, covering costs for items ranging from beds and mattresses to syringe drivers and shower commodes.
Wayne Naylor, Acting Chief Executive of Hospice New Zealand says, “We are delighted that The Harcourts Foundation has agreed to fund the Hospice New Zealand Grants Programme for the 7th year in a row.
The grants programme enables hospices to buy critical equipment that helps keep people comfortable at home with whānau and friends, so they can live every moment in whichever way is important to them.”

Bryan Thomson, Managing Director Harcourts New Zealand says, “The Harcourts Foundation is incredibly proud and delighted to announce the continuation of our partnership with Hospice New Zealand. Our teams across the country are honoured to support Hospice's mission of providing exceptional palliative and end-of-life care to those in need.
The Harcourts Foundation has been around for 15 years and since its launch in 2008, it has remained an incredibly important part of our organisation. It allows us to reach into our communities and make a difference to those people who need support.”
Head of Harcourts Foundation Emma Revell says, - “It’s an absolute privilege to be able to assist Hospice NZ. I am personally in awe of the work they do, as is everyone who has been touched by hospice and their incredible teams.”
Harcourts consider the Harcourts Foundation to be at the heart of their core values of people first, doing the right thing, being courageous and fun and laughter. The Harcourts Foundation is the embodiment of what it means to be part of Harcourts.
In addition to the Hospice New Zealand Grants Programme, many Harcourts franchises around the country will continue to assist their local hospices, both financially and through volunteer work.
